Evangelism

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew was founded in 1883 and is the oldest evangelistic ministry of the Episcopal Church. Our mission is to lead men and boys to Christ through the disciplines of prayer, study and service, allowing men to grow in their faith in Jesus so together we can spread Christ’s kingdom among men.

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church is an active men’s ministry that meets twice a month for prayer, study and discussion. Meetings are mid-month, Wednesdays at 6:30 PM and breakfast meetings and Bible Studies the last Saturday of the month at 8:00 AM. We invite all men and boys in our parish family to attend and/or to be associated with our chapter.

Some of the Brotherhood’s Activities include:

Prayer and Bible study at regularly scheduled meetings
Building of Faith Chests for the newly baptized
Ushering the first Sunday of every month
Coffee hour set up/clean up the second Sunday of every month
Fat Tuesday Pancake Dinner
Ascension Spaghetti Dinner
Advent wreath making with the Annual Chili Cook Off
“Brotherhood and Friends” social events where all are invited, such as
spring training baseball games, cookouts at Inlet Park and roller-skating.
These events build relationships with prospective and current members and
are a bridge to youth.
